Yosemite National Park will offer a flexible peak-hours reservation system this summer, requiring reservations only on select high-demand dates, including Memorial Day Weekend.
Reservations are required for entering the popular park in California from May 24 to May 26 from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., which is Memorial Day Weekend; from June 15 to August 15 during the same hours; and from August 30 through September 1, which is Labor Day Weekend.
No summer reservations are required from May 27 through June 14 and August 16 through August 29.
Reservations aren’t required if travelers book lodging, campsites or vacation rentals within the park, have a wilderness of Half Dome permit, or use the Yosemite Area Regional Transit System or a guided tour.
Travelers who choose to visit during peak days can make their reservations for the next seven days starting May 6 on Recreation.gov. Each reservation costs $2 and is valid for three consecutive days.
Yosemite National Park is the sixth most popular national park in the nation, having welcomed over 4.1 million visitors last year. A new report also listed Yosemite as one of the best national parks for travelers with differing accessibility needs, making it a great choice for travelers with mobility considerations.
